Reading Borough Council publishes response to Health and Well-Being Strategy Consultation
Fri, 2013-01-18 08:26 — AdministratorIn a paper to be considered at the (shadow) Health and Well-Being Board on 25th January 2013, Reading Borough Council has published its response to the public consultation on Reading's Health and Well-Being Strategy for 2013-14. Please see the attached link for access to this paper. Much of the comment is in the way of fleshing out the strategy and changing or introducing new points of emphasis. It is stressed that the strategy is an evolving document.

CCG advertises for two lay members

These positions are permanent, remunerated and involve a commitment of at least two days per month. The advertisement in the Reading Chronicle of 10 January 2012 gives full details.

Public Health Funding for Reading
Thu, 2013-01-10 18:03 — AdministratorThe Government has announced grants for ring-fenced Public Health expenditure for 2013-14 and 2014-15. Reading gets £7.5M for 2013-14 and £8.2M for 2014-15. This equates to £47 per head for 2013-14 and £52 per head for 2014-15. The England average is £49 per head in 2013-14 and £51 per head in 2014-15.

South Reading CCG gains conditional authorisation
Thu, 2012-12-13 11:56 — AdministratorThe National Commissioning Board for the NHS has granted conditional authorisation to South Reading Clinical Commissioning Group. There are four conditions attached which are organisational in nature and should be satisfied in the next few months so that the South Reading CCG should be in good shape to take on the planning and purchasing of secondary services for the people of South Reading from April 2013. The other CCGs in the Berkshire West have also gained conditional approval, but South Reading has the least number of conditions attached.
