Members' Night at SRPV on Wednesday, 25th April 2018


South Reading Patient Voice will be meeting at 6pm on 25th April 2018 at Reading Community Learning Centre, 94, London Street, RG1 4SJ. We will hear presentations from members on a number of subjects: "Causes of Morning Sickness", "The Role of School Nurse", "What our Integrated Care System is doing". We will also discuss future work and hear about the work of local Patient Participation Groups, Reading Healthwatch and other news from the local health economy.

Now Sending Members Requests for Consent to Store and Use Data


Over the first couple of weeks of April we are sending members emails asking for consent to store and use personal details (such as name, address, contact details, registered surgery) for South Reading Patient Voice. The emails contain a link to click on which starts "http://www.srpv.org.uk/srpv/content.........". This is safe to click on. You can then give or withhold consent as you wish. This is because of new EU legislation (GDPR) which comes into force on 25th May.

Circuit Lane GP surgery to be part of Western Elms GP Practice


According to Healthwatch Reading the troubled Circuit Lane surgery (part of the North and West Reading Clinical Commissioning locality), which has been in special measures for some time and has been the subject of much dissatisfaction is to be taken over by the well regarded Western Elms practice.

Life Expectancy is Falling for the First Time in Decades


According to an article in the Financial Times of 1st March 2018 UK life expectancy, which has been rising steadily since the 1860s, has fallen back in 2015 and 2017. Compared with 2014 life expectancies for males at age 65 are 10 months shorter and life expectancies for females at age 65 are 12 months shorter.

Health Profile for South Reading Locality

Public Health England creates summary health profiles for all Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG) areas. As the South reading locality was an independent CCG in 2017 a health profile is available for it for 2017. This summarises social conditions relevant to health and wellbeing and health outcomes for the people of South Reading.

Berkshire West CCG is Up and Running


Berkshire West Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG) has now taken over from the 4 federated CCGs covering the three local authorities West Berks, Reading and Wokingham. It has its own website with details of the four localities.
